Sutton Building

I volunteered at the new Geology Sutton Building open house today and it was pretty fun.I met some professors that I didn't even know exist. I went on a couple of tours. I saw a freakishly long core that was in boxes around the room. I learned TONS! It was fun to talk to some teachers that I haven't had class with in a while. Funny thing is they still think of me as a good student. I also got help with some homework, so it was a good day. I am hurting and tired because I have been waling around from 9:30 am- 3:30 pm. I only sat down for maybe 10 minutes total today.

I have to say everyone should go and walk through this building. It seems to be an extension of the Museum of Natural History, Geology Division. It is beautiful! The finest specimens of rocks and fossils there are. Massive ammonites (kinda look like snails-ish). Great seismology lab. massive polished rock slabs from around the world that are the most beautiful things I have seen! A roof garden. It is wonderful. I would give tours. I have been doing that today. It has tubed lighting (from sunlight) giving almost all light to the top floor. It is awesome. I couldn't say more better things about it.
