I went and talked to my 2 academic advisers today. For the first time in 2 years my teaching adviser changed. I don't really know who my adviser is for Geology but I have a lady that is doing some transferring classes for me so I call her my current adviser. So, I like my new teaching adviser. She is so helpful and has me set up for graduation and she is going to talk to the geology department and try to spark some university interest in the Earth Science Composite Teaching major as well as revamp the program to take the classes that are no longer offered off and replace them with the classes they have to add exceptions for. This is a big step and I hope the department of Geology and Geophysics does what she asks.
With regards to switching my classes over for credit toward my major, the geology person said that all the signatures are there for my petition but the individual exceptions have not been made. I just hope that they are added to the correct catalog year. There have been other issues with the teaching department because of this. But the long-short of it is that I have them, but I have to make sure that they are added to my degree audit report correctly. This last part of schooling is fun.
I had a meeting for my student teaching year and I think that it will be hard, but at the same time I think I will enjoy it. I should know where I will be teaching by the beginning of October. I have to teach 12 weeks starting in January. I technically only have to teach 4 classes a day. I will be taking over the 6 classes. I am not intimidated. I have done it before and I will have to do that when I start working. So, that is that. I am excited to move to this next step of my schooling.
