Red Tape -- Rant

Yes, this is a rant about the graduation red tape that I am going through so, if you are so inclined, ignore this post.

There is a wonderful tool at the U of U called the Degree Audit Report System or DARS. With this you as a student are able to see all of the graduation requirements for your degree and how close you are to fulfilling those requirements.

I have been fighting to get my SCIENCE classes to transfer from ISU. ISU is a certified university in all of the sciences that I have taken and everything should have had absolutely no trouble transferring. Well, my department is giving me crap. In ISU chemistry 1 & 2 had labs built right into the class. Here they are separate. Yes, I fulfilled all of the requirements of these classes. I have taken a 3000 level class that will be substituted in for a 1000 level class. They are trying to say that I need to take another class...I don't. They think that we need to have a Biology class that hasn't been offered in 4 years. Really? I took that substitution last semester.

It is so frustrating when they are saying that you have an entire semester more of classes that I know I have already taken. I just hope that this gets taken care of soon. It has taken 2 years to get this far.
