I was at my parent's house over the weekend. Since my Mom got sick while we were there rather than go out we decided to have movie day in. This was totally fine with me because I wasn't feeling all that well either. Dad, Endrit and I went into town to rent some movies and my Dad talked about the critically acclaimed Kite runner. I usually don't migrate towards these types of movies because they can be too much drama and real life for me to handle. I know life is bad and I don't want to watch reality in my entertainment. For as real as this movie is, I loved it. It was heart-breaking, confusing, and enlightening. It is a movie set in Afghanistan which is where my brother is currently stationed. The corruptions shown and the beauty of the lives of some and the passion they have for truth and right is awesome. It is not a show for the light hearted or for children. Too many adult issues that come with a corrupt war. It is an amazing non-R movie that depicts the realities that too many people in this world know to be their every day lives.
Then we watched Uncle Buck to get our spirits back up, but Kite Runner left a long lasting impression on me.
