School

I have been going through my degree progression and as I have feared since I have started school here, I am going to have too many classes to finish in May 2010, but I have too few classes to carry a full academic load until my cohort year starting Fall 2010. This is my dilemma. If I take 12 credits this next Spring, 3 in Summer, and 12 in Fall, I am done with everything but my student teaching. This leaves Spring and Summer 2010 free for me to get another minor, or...what I am thinking is taking a break from school and working for those 8 months to get a savings account for a down-payment on a house or other expenditures we may encounter when I graduate. I was really surprised when I saw that I was SO close to fulfilling my pre-student-teaching classes. I only have 8 left to take including generals and everything. What do you think about me taking a recess from school for 8 months before my last year? I was thinking that I could sign on as a substitute teacher at a school so I can get a hold of classes before I have to do student teaching which I am mortified to do. It would be good practice. I would try to find a school that would possibly hire me for summer as well so I would have to look around. It is nice to know that I have this leeway. Unfortunately they don't have December graduations for teaching so I have no opportunity to graduate at that time. Tell me what you think...

same situation here, I am so close but the classes i need arent offered. so i have even thought about working and taking a semester off. I think that it would be hard to come back if taking a semester off after not, so good luck with the decison
