Without going into too much detail, all Hell has been breaking loose in the Shurdha household over the topic of Endrit's thesis defense. Not Endrit and I fighting or anything, but one of the committee members was being an absolute......jerk...yeah that's the word I want :rolls eyes:
So anyways, after trudging through everything, he has all 5 professors willing to come together for a few hours in the same room to hear Endrit's defense.
August 19, 2011 at 1 pm. We could use all of the prayers, thoughts, positive energy, whatever you believe in sent his way to get over this last hurdle.
This situation has made many, MANY people all across the campus/family very angry. Even my geology professor that wouldn't hurt a fly told us to file a complaint to the dean of graduate school. But, I am happy everything is settled for now.

27 weeks
How far along? 27 weeks
Baby is the size of a: head of cauliflower (16 inches long, 2.2 pounds)
Total weight gain/loss: Honestly have no clue.
Sleep: I seem to wake up at random times. Perhaps to pee or get my allegra early. Tossing and turning has definitely started!
Best moment this week: Endrit was able to watch my belly move on its own. And he felt the big kicks too.
Movement: Kicks have reached my ribs. Rolls and flips make me nauseated. It will be nice when she gets locked and loaded.
Food cravings/aversions: Cravings of PB&J sometimes.
What I miss: Shaving my legs while being able to breathe.
What I am looking forward to: Completing my Hypnobabies course. It really is nice and relaxing.
Milestones: Today is the start of my 3rd trimester!!!! Major milestone I think!
Symptoms: Braxton-Hick's contractions. Backache. Puffiness.

Baby Quilt
Ever since the first butterfly quilt that my mom made, I knew that I would want one for a baby girl. It was just too adorable!!! Well, here I am pregnant with a little girl and my parents in the middle of a move that is taking them half way across the country and I thought that it wasn't going to happen. I just randomly said how sad I was that I most likely wasn't going to get one yesterday when my mom and I were at Hobby Lobby in Joplin (which I am stunned wasn't destroyed by the tornado when almost everything else around it was). Well, this is what my mom and I did today...
So now, a day later, I have the start of an amazing butterfly quilt. It needs to have the back, batting, and binding put on as well as the quilting to be done by my Mom. It was really fun to help her out with the quilt that will be going to MY baby girl. I am in love.
Milestones
With any pregnancy, especially a first baby pregnancy after multiple miscarriage loss, there is going to be milestones. With me they were...
1-positive pregnancy test
2-positive blood pregnancy test
3-first ultrasound
4-hearing the heartbeat
5-double digits in weeks
6-2nd trimester
7-feeling the first baby movements
8-first week without needing zofran
9-viability of the baby
There is one that is happening today, It isn't a cool one like movements of the baby or anything. This one actually means practically nothing since it is solely dependent on Marsi being due on October 23. It doesn't take into account if she is born early, late, or right on time. BUT, it is still a pretty cool milestone to me. Today marks the official start of the 2 digit countdown to Marsi's due date. October 23 is 99 days from today and I think that is pretty cool considering how doctors measure pregnancy, it is 280 days gestation. 181 days down, 99 to go.
There are still several milestones to be had. Entering the 3rd trimester. Baby dropping. Hitting 30 weeks. Going into labor! But, I have been excited about this day for a long time. It is nice to be in double instead of triple digits...even if it really means nothing.

25 weeks in Missouri
It is interesting that I have spent almost my entire 2nd trimester (well, the parts that I feel good) in Missouri. With the 2 weeks in June and 3/4 of July that I am here, I will be gone from my house for 6 out of the last 7 weeks. This time working on the house started a little bit later. We had family at the house for a week and we went to Kansas City for a little over a day too.
So, now I am 25 weeks along in Missouri. I don't have the information I need to make a complete post on how things are going, so here is my attempt.
Milestones reached...Theoretically, Marsi is 2 pounds. She also has theoretically broken the 12 inches long head to foot length. Such a smart little girl to have grown so big! I was able to sit and watch my belly dance on its own when Marsi was in a hyper mood. There is absolutely no doubt about what I feel when she kicks my hand. She plays the kick where I poke game about 1/3 the times that I want to play.
How I feel...I am getting bigger so that comes with the common pregnancy ailments. I haven't had to take a lot of my medication. I think I am completely off of my nausea medication! I thought the day would never come!
So, that really is Marsi and I in a nutshell. The posts will be better when I get home.

23 weeks
How far along? 23 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Ear of corn (11 inches long, 1.2 pounds)
Total weight gain/loss: -8 lbs (+/- 0 lb)
Sleep: Dreams are getting much more vivid and weird. I must have been dehydrated last night because in my dream I was drinking water like crazy!
Best moment this week: Feeling a MASSIVE kick from Marsi on the outside of my belly.
Movement: Mostly kicks and jabs now. Not so many rolls and flips.
Food cravings/aversions: Most food is considered a go now.
What I miss: Getting up easily.
What I am looking forward to: Endrit feeling Marsi kick him for the first time!
Milestones: Viability. There is an okay chance of survival after 23 weeks. BUT, Marsi, please stay put for now!
Symptoms: Braxton-Hick's contractions. They are getting stronger, more apparent, and seemingly more frequent.

In Missouri
I spent the last 2 weeks in Missouri helping my mom set up their new home. They didn't have internet there so I didn't blog. The last 2 weeks of pregnancy have gone well. I am able to not take as much Zofran anymore. I am looking bigger, but not measuring that much bigger, and not bigger at all in weight. I feel Marsi consistently now. I have even felt her really strong with my hand. I am hoping within the next week Endrit will be able to be around for that lovely moment before I head to Missouri again for another 2 weeks.
Honestly, I am starting to freak out a little bit. I imagine that most, if not all, pregnant women go through this stage. Marsi is most likely coming within the next 4 months. Endrit needs to find a job, and about a million other things. I don't know if I will be giving birth in Utah or North Carolina...or Delaware! All I see is the unknown. I have faith. I get peace when I pray about it. But, every once in a while, I freak.
I had to change my next appointment with the midwife. I had to postpone it by 20 days! So almost 3 weeks later. That makes it almost 2 months between appointments. My midwife was surprised, but when she found out I would be in Missouri, obviously there was no problem. I am actually really excited for the appointment that is in 25 days.
While in Missouri, my mom redid 2 rooms of the house. It was hard work for sure! I rested enough. It looks amazing! I really hope my mom does a blog so everyone can see the change. We had fun.
