Busy Day

Endrit and I have had a busy day today. I hadn't picked up my lesson manual from my substitute yet (I didn't know her address...silly me :-P) so I had to prep my lesson from the online manuals which was fine, but I had to go to church early to ask the lady when I could pick it up and where she lived. Then because of the 4th of July weekend there were so many people visiting as well as people there for a baby blessing. We ended up having half of our class being visitors and one of the kids was severely autistic. His mom stayed for the lesson, but during the fun time she left him with us. I thought that was really good on her part to trust Endrit and I with him. He usually doesn't do well with change and gets into fits about it, but he really warmed up to me. He warmed up enough that I took charge with him during singing and sharing time as well. He was just so much fun. Very limited communication skills, but I even got him involved in the "fishing" activity for sharing time. He did really well considering his disaility. I know that his mom was really happy that his transition to being my friend went so smoothly. It makes me wonder why I didn't just stick with Special Education. I will think about getting a Masters in Special Education later on. It would be hard, but I have always enjoyed being around children with disabilities.
After church I made great chicken Alfredo...from a box :) . With it being Fast sunday almost anything would taste good. I have a friend from high school that had her first son about a month ago that was getting blessed in West Jordan and Endrit and I were invited to attend that. Luckily the sacrament meeting for them was at 2:45. We went to that and saw a few people I haven't seen since graduation and had a good time. We didn't stay long because I had to go and get my lesson manual from the neighbor. It has been a busy day but I feel good, rested and ready for my middle week of this class. I am half way done with Physics 2 and I am getting excited to be done with the class. Now it is time to go and eat dinner at Endrit's parent's house...busy busy.
