In the Process of Learning

School has decided what it usually decides the few days before the break that I look forward to with the start of any semester. I have papers due and midterms that are worth 1/6th of my grade. I end up skipping other classes to study for exams and I just get a little worn out by the end. Praxis is in 5 days. I really need to study for it. It won't be too bad, but studying is necessary. After that it is fingerprinting and finishing up a group project. No real break, but I am grateful that I don't have to go to classes. It is all good. I needed a little bit of a break from trying my hardest to remember names, places and actions without getting confused with other people. It isn't all that easy. I think my brain is full. It can't hold any more. It won't allow it. That is all.

Looking Through Pictures

I was looking through some of the pictures that people have pertified for me in the past and I found my most favoritest pictures that a nice girl named Marie made for me. Most of you know that Endrit and I are nerds and we enjoy it. I just gave her pictures and a chemical formula...actually it is an acid-base indicator methylene blue...and she made the wonderful picture on the top of the blog. I just wanted to share where it came from.

Fall Break T-4 days

Fall break starts on Saturday. It will be a nice break from things for a while, but at the same time I have to take Praxis 1 and finish up some of the assignments that I need to do before I get back to school. It sucks, but that is life. Once I have taken the Praxis, I will be 90% ready to hand in my admissions packet. I still need to get a couple of letters of recommendations but I will be sending out a reminder email fot that. Professors can be really busy when it is midterm.

I can't believe that this semester is half over; excited but stunned. It has gone by so fast. Too bad I don't have a summer to look foreward to. It is just school from here on out.

Other than school nothing much has changed. It is the same old boring life of a university student.

Conference and Scuba Diving

This weekend was fun. I went to watch one of Rick's classes scuba dive. While I was there, I learned that around Thanksgiving time, I will be a certified or on the road to be a certified scuba diver. I have wanted to take this class from Rick for a long time but with school I haven't had the time to just stay in Idaho for a while. I will have to do most of the stuff homestudy, but that means that I will have toe to do it! I am excited about it. Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, I will most likely be in the pool doing practice dives. I am not sure when Rick was going to do open water dives but when that happens, I will go. Hopefully Endrit and I will be able to go on a vacation at some time where we will be able to utilize this skill.

Conference was really good as well. I love our dear prophet. He spoke amny things that I needed to hear. There was a great talk about celestial marriage and the ways in which people choose which marriage to take upon themselves, whether celestial or a lesser one with no promise after death. It makes me really glad that Endrit and I were able to be married in the temple and that there is a way to "upgrade" marriages if a lesser choice was made to begin with. This was a good talk for me because I am really hoping that Endrit's parents will be able to go to the temple and be sealed to eachother and to Endrit. It would be a very interesting ceremony. I am hoping that it happens within a year from now. I really want Endrit to talk to them about it, but there is a whole respect your elders thing that he thinks bars him from trying to convince them that it is a good thing. Who knows. It is a nice thing sometimes to give people a little push towards progression.

I had a good weekend. I am ready for school this week. It isn't fun, but I am ready for it to be here. If it is here, it will be over faster and I can get onto the next semester. It is always good to be busy.

Utes Football

Last nights game was AWESOME! Endrit and I decided to leave as Oregon scored a touchdown and the extra point which made it 28:20 Oregon. There was only 1:42 left in the game so we thought that it was over because we would have to get a touchdown and the 2 pt conversion to get it into overtime. We walk out of the stadium and everyone is screaming. They got the touchdown. Then a flag was thrown...personal foul against both teams re do the try for a conversion. They actually got the 2 pt. conversion! I didn't want to stay for overtime and there was not much left in the game. Oregon turned the ball over with only 1 possession and the ball is on the Utah 45. Endrit and I were running back to the stadium. They got a little closer and wasted time until 1 second was left. Tied at 28:28 they get out awesome kicker out there and he gets the game winning field goal. It was late, but definitely worth it.

Trials

I am in the midst of a few trials in my life. I was talking to a friend online and she gave me advice that was so overpowering and inspiring that I have to tell anyone who cares to read this about it.

When I have heard talks about trials and how trials sculpt people into becoming better most of the time people used the analogy of clay. I was always fine with this analogy, but in the midst of a trial things are much harder than the pliable clay that is used in the usual analogy. My friend wrote me today saying,

"You know, trials seem so big and huge and hard when you're going through them. It hurts so much to be sculpted. Some people use clay for this particular analogy. I see the Lord sculpting in granite. It's really hard to see what someone is trying to make when they start in on a block of granite, and it seems so much more destructive. Sometimes you're looking at it, and you think you see what's being made, just to have the Sculptor take out an essential part of it, which leaves you reeling. You don't understand why He took off that particular chunk, because you can't see what He has in mind. But later, as you see more and more of the piece, you understand why it had to be that way."

It was the perfect thing that could have been said to me at this time in my life. School has not been enjoyable for an extended period of time which is the first time I can remeber this happening since starting University. This is only the tip of the iceburg to my trial, but it is something that I know will help me to be a much better person in the long run. Sometimes I wish that trials would come one at a time and last for an hour and be done with it.

If any of you remember 2 years ago I was sick and going through at that time the worst trial in my life. I am greatful for the lessons in life that my trials have taught me. I would be nieve without the experiances. There is a hope that trials at some point will end if not now, at the second coming. I hope to keep these in mind as I try to see the benifits of current trials.

Little Blessings

There are only a few times that I will consider little blessings. I wouldn't wish a sinus infection on anyone, but I am not saddened by the fact that one of my teachers has one and it kind of put off my midterm for another 2 days. I think that is sad that she had to be sick to have this be nice for me, but I am happy that I have another couple of days to study is really nice. Don't think I am evil :)
