Well, today Endrit gets to really be Mr. Mom. He has been stay at home dad for a few months now. This is different. This is the first time that he even said that he feels like a mom. I am at work and he is at the cardiologist with Marsi. It is the first time that he has gone to a doctor's appointment with Marsi without me there. It is pretty easy for her. There is no blood work today. No immunizations, just looking at her incision, x-rays, an electrocardiogram and a small echocardiogram. I think that Daddy will do just fine with it. I am still debating going to her regular 6 month pediatrician appointment because it will have immunizations and Endrit does not do well with needles at all and I want her to have some support when he usually leaves the room for things like this.
fast forward an hour...
The cardiology appointment went well. Marsi does have a little bit of fluid around her heart. It is a very small amount, but it needs to go away. This should be done by medication. She goes back to the cardiologist for another echocardiogram and x-ray in a week. Other than that, the electrocardiogram is showing that her heart is working more normally. It is showing that there is a lot less stress on her heart which is great news. When we have her 9 month pediatric appointment they will want us to get another x-ray to ensure that her heart is in fact getting smaller over time.
I also set up her 6 month pediatric appointment for May 3 at 3:45 pm. The school is allowing me to leave the building 15 minutes before the final bell so that I can have enough time to pick her up and get to the appointment in time. I am lucky to work at this school that would help me out.
So, that is what it is.

That is too bad about the fluid. We'll be praying for all of you.
I'm sorry to hear about the fluid :( Hopefully it will get better soon!
